Who We Are
What We Do
Just like the art that surrounds you in your daily life, you have probably been an unsuspecting onlooker of some of our programs and services:
- Live, Work, Create Toledo – Is a City of Toledo initiative to attract the creative talents of artists to revitalize our Downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.
- Art in Public Places – We are responsible for the conservation, acquisition, and education of Toledo’s 50 sculptures – the largest municipal collection of art in the state of Ohio!
- Young Artists at Work – Each summer, we enable over 75 at-risk youth to develop their employability skills in an arts and cultural environment.
- Artist Meet and Greet – Series of events held to provide networking opportunities for Toledo's creative community .
- Parkwood Gallery – Stop by our offices to see and purchase works of local talent.
- Downtown Windows Project – Revitalization project utilizing vacant storefronts for the display of two-dimensional artwork in the Downtown area.
- Fire and Rescue Memorial –This memorial will serve to replace the City’s long standing “Last Alarm” Memorial created to memorialize those lost in the 1961 Anthony Wayne Trail Fire. The new memorial will honor these same heroes along with others that have subsequently passed as a result of their heroism.
- Art Exhibitions – The Arts Commission annually coordinates the 9th Congressional Art Show for high school students, as well as a variety of exhibitions that showcase the talent and diversity of our local and regional artists.
