Art In Public Places
Walbridge Park
An initiative to transform Walbridge Park into a "Destination Park" has taken it through a three-phase improvement plan. The public art component defines the third phase of the project. The Design Review Board facilitated a national and local call for artists and the commission was awarded to a design team consisting of Tom Askman and Lea Anne Lake of Cheney, Washington. This wonderful new addition to the City's public art collection stands tall at the Northern most tip of the park, across from the Broadway entrance to the Toledo Zoo. The sculpture was completed in Fall of 2005 and dedicated on July 20, 2006.
